What is KLIFE?
KLIFE is a community-wide, interdenominational Christian ministry of discipleship and fellowship for youth and their families. Through a variety of activities (klubs, small group Bible studies, and monthly events), KLIFE kids grow in their faith and have lots of fun in the process. They learn that following Christ and discovering His plan for their life is the most exciting adventure of all and that they can count on friendship and support from leaders and peers who care.

The heart of our ministry is small groups. Our small groups are made up of boys or girls in the same grade. They are led by young professionals and college students who have a heart for ministry and working with kids. A small group meets once a week and studies the Bible or a biblically-based book keeping in line with the KLIFE curriculum.

Meet the Staff
Fred Lalanne, Chapter Director
I grew up in Winter Springs, Florida, a city in the Orlando area. I was raised going to church and I was always involved in church youth ministry. I attended the University of Central Florida where I studied Sports and Exercise Science. In college I started to volunteer with the youth ministry at church which is where my passion for youth grew. I then started to work for Kanakuk Kamps where I have served for six years. I was a leader at Orlando KLIFE for three years and my experience with KLIFE grew my passion and got me excited to disciple teenagers. I then attended the Kanakuk Institute where I was equipped to study God’s word and do ministry. I am very excited to be starting my second year with St. Pete KLIFE!
Kaitlyn Vanderveld, Women's Director
I grew up in a small town south of St. Louis, Missouri. After high school, I attended and played softball at Evangel University, graduating in 2012 with a degree in psychology. I then spent two years teaching 6th grade before attending the Kanakuk Institute, a graduate program in biblical studies. While at the Kanakuk Institute, I interned for KLIFE in Arkansas and fell in love with the ministry. I also met my husband, Joe, at the Institute. KLIFE is my dream job! For as long as I can remember I've had a passion for discipleship. The world constantly feeds us lies, especially in middle and high school, and my heart's greatest desire is for young women to know, believe, and live out the Truth. I am so excited to start my fourth year with St. Pete KLIFE!
